Join the ITP for a lively panel discussion about Business Models...
This will be lead by Peter Cochrane (former Head of BT Research and BT Chief Technologist until 2000). Peter is founder of Cochrane Associates, a virtualised global operation that exploits the new business freedoms and opportunities afforded by the latest technologies.
Business Models:
- How can carriers place themselves at the heart of the value chain rather than occupy a supporting role that cuts them out of the profit potential?
- Are telcos already too late and have they already lost out to Google?
- Who is treading on whose toes in the race for these new markets?
- Is there enough profit available here to underpin next generation network business cases? Is the prize worth the upheaval?
- How can carriers mitigate the risks attached to becoming a platform for third parties?
- Is there a danger that by bulking up on MVNO wholesale traffic to fill their capacity, carriers could be missing out on more profitable consumer traffic?
- Are MVNO subscribers becoming the second-class citizens of the mobile world as carriers keep the best services and handsets for themselves and only extend limited offerings to their MVNO partners?
- As more third party organizations use the mobile channel will brands continue to be attracted to the MVNO model or look to address their customer base with different services?
- How does fixed mobile convergence and unified communications fit in with the MVNO model?
