ITP members are cordially invited to an IET lecture called Aircraft Accident Investigation.

This presentation details the process followed by professional accident investigators as they respond to aircraft accidents from ultralights through to large passenger aircraft and from helicopters to fast military jets. This includes the process that they follow and the challenges they face in trying to solve what may be an extremely complex puzzle. The talk will include case study accidents and some of the surprising discoveries that have been made through painstaking reconstruction of technical failures and human factors. Professor Braithwaite runs the Cranfield University Safety and Accident Investigation Centre which trains many of the world's accident investigators.
