Professor Phil Green delivered a stimulating lecture about how the use of digital speech recognition and manipulation systems can assist in curing patients with speech defects. Audio examples of different sounds clearly showed the difficulties involved and the progress being made. The speech was very well received by members who attended the seminar at YarnfieldPark in Stone, Staffordshire.
Thanks are due to the numerous people who made this event possible. Specifically Professor Phil Green (Head of Department, Speech and Hearing Research Group, Department of Computer Science, University of Sheffield) for his stimulating seminar and Ray Piper for arranging the event locally on behalf of ITP.
Bringing in new blood to the telecoms industry – and then getting the best out of them – is a priority for the ITP.Click here to read the article....
