Science Magic... Magic Science
Over 200 people attended the family lecture held on Saturday the 1st of December 2007. Professor Ian B Dunne delivered a entertaining and informative presentation to an eager family audience. As promised the show contained mystery, suspense and laughter.
Professor Dunne entertained with a mix of chemistry and physics examples, to demonstrate the Magic of Science. The audience witnessed Barbie’s hair standing on end, Rabbits appearing from hats and aluminium containers cascading off the top of the sphere, amongst other tricks.
Everyone was thrilled with the zany presentation methods deployed by Professor Dunne. His demonstrations kept those in attendance amused and enthralled. The highlight was the carol Silent Night which was played like never before, from colour changing liquid, air movement, magic rope tricks and much, much more.
Comments received after the presentation express the amazement especially of the younger attendees; it would appear that some parents have already made visits to the ScienceMuseum instead of going shopping!
Thanks to the London regional volunteers who helped make this possible.
These are just a couple of comments that we have received from our members who attended this event.
Just a quick note to say how much we all enjoyed the Lecture on Saturday – so much so that the shopping trip by our 12 &13 year olds was abandoned for an afternoon in the Science Museum!
