ITP Visit to the BT Worldwide Network Management Centre, Oswestry on Tuesday 9th October 2007.
The first Wales Region event since the launch of ITP was held at BT’s Jewel in the Crown, the Worldwide Network Management Centre located in Oswestry.
John Burke, the Centre’s Customer Relations Manager presented a fascinating story of the history of the Centre spanning some 22 years. John lead the audience through the development of the Centre since 1985 when it was relocated from London to the present day operations which covers not only BT’s network but that of other network operators too. The highly interactive presentation covered a broad range of content from a level that a schoolboy could understand to an in depth technical explanation of the many functions of the Centre in today’s’ high tech world. The icing on the cake was the view of the 24/7 operations Centre showing the technologists managing the network as the tour drew to a close.
“Undoubtedly, the best presentation I have seen in the past 20 years” was the accolade given to John by Martin Ingram, ITP’s Regional Manger.
Martin thanked the Wales Region team for organizing the event and exclaimed it was a cracking start to ITP’s Wales program of events this year.
