Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years. Nowadays, the city is a bustling cosmopolitan town.

With its mix of ancient and modern, there is plenty for tourist to do. Whether it's visiting one of the many historic buildings, colleges or museums, going out for a drink or a meal, or shopping till you drop, Oxford has it all.
Network with fellow delegates and partners over drinks and canapés at Ofcom HQ. Click here for details.
Tuesday 23 September – Tate Modern & St Paul’s Cathedral (+ optional trip to Globe Theatre)
Today you will visit two iconic London tourist attractions - Tate Modern and St Pauls.
Tate Modern is the national gallery of international modern art. The Collection comprises the national collection of British art from the year 1500 to the present day, and of international modern art. Created in the year 2000 from a disused power station in the heart of London, Tate Modern displays the national collection of international modern art, defined as art since 1900.
St Paul’s Cathedral has overlooked the City of London since 604AD. The current Cathedral – the fourth to occupy this site – was designed by the court architect Sir Christopher Wren and built between 1675 and 1710 after its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. Its architectural and artistic importance reflect the determination of the five monarchs who oversaw its building that London’s leading church should be as beautiful and imposing as their private palaces.
At the end of the tour you may wish to visit the nearby Shakepeare's Globe Theatre. Your guide will give you directions to the theatre and leave you to explore this stunning iconic theatre. For more details visit www.shakespeares-globe.org. Please note any costs incurred are in additional to the partners programme fee and payable directly to the theatre.
The congress social programme culminates on the Tuesday night with the Gala Dinner. Click here for details.
