Our event on Monday 3rd December at the BT Training Centre, Yarnfield, Staffordshire, was a joint presentation with BCS, IET & ITP that was given by Professor Phil Green. The presentation demonstrated just how the use of digital speech recognition and manipulation systems can assist in curing patients with speech defects. Audio examples of different sounds clearly showed the difficulties involved and the progress being made. A professional presentation which left all those attending with a greater understanding of a complex subject.
Thanks to Ray Piper for arranging the event locally on behalf of ITP.
On Saturday 8th December, Ian B Dunne (The Professor) presented and entertained us at the Central Library, Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, for our annual Christmas Family lecture. In atrocious weather conditions almost all of those that had booked arrived to be entertained and educated by a mixture of scientific chemistry and physics examples, which utilised some basic principles to demonstrate so many different applications. The support for this event was most encouraging with parties travelling from Newport, Wales as well as a large contingent from Leicester, Mansfield and Stone.
Thanks to everyone who supported this event.
Our next event was held on Tuesday 5th February 2008 when Nimesh Chauhan, ITP's Apprentice of the Year 2007, gave us a presentation on 'The Broadband Revolution'. Please visit the Event Calendar for more information.
