Level 2 Telecoms Field Operative
Duration 15 months
The broad role of a Telecoms Field Operative (TFO) is to build, provide or repair telecom services for commercial or residential customers on the UK’s National Telecom Access Network.
In addition, suitable apprentices for this programme will work on the copper and fibre connections for 4G and 5G services to homes and businesses from the local telephone exchanges. These connections deliver telephone, internet, data and TV services to households and businesses.
Typically, a TFO will interact with a number of different customers on a daily basis depending on their role. Depending on the specific role, the apprentice could be working on telecoms equipment in a telephone exchange, at height, in underground networks, in residential and business properties, and in any other places where a telecoms service is required.
