Book Now - ITP Seminar- The Future of Business Services- 7th Feb 2018

Seminar

Join us on the 7th February 2018 at BT Centre, London to discuss the Future of Business Services

Over the last decade, we have seen the continuing migration to all IP-based networks at the service level, underpinned by high capacity optical cores, with the delivery of 'over-the-top' consumer services and applications, where the network is just transporting the bits.   We are seeing access networks that use a mix of high speed mobile, Wifi, copper and fibre access, which are driving a new era of converged business services that are changing the way the enterprises operate.

Technology developments, such as 5G and business IoT, are adding additional layers of complexity to service delivery networks.  Service Providers are looking to adapt their architectures towards emerging principles of network design that will deliver the capacity needed for the next generation of business services.  Will the advent of software-defined networks and network function virtualisation have an impact on this trend or just enable it to happen faster and more cost-effectively?

This seminar will seek to tease out these issues and offer an insight into the developments that will shape the future of business services and the networks that support them.

Upcoming Insight Events

BT Archives- 14th December

We still have a few places remaining on this ever popular visit, reserve one now!

BT Archives preserves the historical information of BT and its predecessor telecom and telegraph companies from the mid part of the 1800's up to the present day. Effectively the Archives holds the history of telecom services in the UK.

In the Archives are artefacts such as the first ever telephone directory, which just has a short list of names, a section of the first ever transatlantic cable from 1858, through to some great videos on using spare explosives to dig trenches post First World War!  You will get a chance to hold the first directory, see the original advertising artwork, look at some of the 100,000 glass plate negatives from the 1900's and you may even spot the Buzby costume on one of the miles of shelves.  If we have time we will also look through the Holborn Telephone Exchange which at its early prime held the first speaking clock.

You are invited to join David Hay, Head of Heritage on this ITP Insight trip to view these historical pieces and get a historical overview on far the industry has come over the years.
