Tom joined BT Group as a Networks Degree Apprentice at 18, kicking off his IT & Telecoms career. Working across BT’s 21cn Core Network, Media & Broadcast team, and BT TV business unit, Tom grew a range of skills mainly focusing on Data Centre Networking and Network Security. As Network Engineering Manager for BT’s MediaCloud, Tom managed 99.999% uptime networks which were critical to orchestrating changes to the UK’s largest broadcast network – keeping TV online for some of the UK’s largest broadcasters.

Since BT, Tom has joined Check Point Software, one of the largest global Cyber Security vendors, where he now supports large strategic customers in their future security architecture and through securing their AI transformations. Tom is also a member of the ITP Journal editorial board and a former National Vice-Chair of the government’s Apprenticeship Ambassador Network.
